And Simone comes to Town.........

Simone, an Australian friend of the Baba kid, decided to spend a week in Singapore prior to her next destination in Malaysia. Thus the 7th to 14th of August was spent tracking down Neil Humphreys, destroying a suitcase, muttering curses at Chinese tourists at the Night Safari, sampling more varieties of soup than she could imagine, and generally causing mayhem around Singapore.

Club 30 got involved on 2 occasions. On National Day the plan was to go to the zoo with the Bear, but it rained cats and dogs. Instead the trio headed to Katong for a walk-around where Simone got the biggest olfactory shock of her life – durians! One moment she was wondering which drain the pong was coming from, and the next thing she knew her hosts opened the doors to Four Seasons!

That was followed by a stroll around Geylang Serai market (which was certainly more interesting than the Malay Village across the street), and lunch at the Beach Road Army market. Turtle soup and pig brains were on the menu, and Simsy liked them both!

Friday night (11th) was also spent at the Club 30 haunt called Muddy Murphy’s. The company consisted of Simone, KB, Bear, tare, HENG@ and nOrmalbOi, accompanied by Jade the vocalist. Needless to say plenty of food and alcohol was imbibed. The Baba kid chickened out at the sight of a shot of vodka, and spiked the Bear’s Guinness with spoiled apple juice aka Strongbow.
